My name is Brooke Perry. I have lived in Michigan my whole 27 years of life. Ever since I was younger I loved baking. I took classes through high school, baked in our high school restaurant and took a few classes at Schoolcraft college with some of the best cooks & bakers in Michigan. But in 2010 I began to lose that passion, not because I didn't enjoy it but because I was diagnosed with Celiac's Disease. It meant that all the food I have ever known to eat/bake was destroying my body especially my small intestine which was completely destroyed. It also meant I had to go on a gluten free diet immediately and for the rest of my life or my body would start to shut down. In 2010 a gluten free diet wasn't very well known. There was not a lot of options everything kind of tasted bland and like cardboard.
After a few years of feeling bad for myself and not baking anything I decided myself and any one else with Celiac disease or on a gluten free diet deserved to eat delicious treats. It is an awful feeling going to every party and not being able to eat a single thing there. So my goal is to provide yummy treats for anyone on a diet that they can have at their parties or bring along to any party so they don't have to feel left out any more!
